Back Door

This is for family and friends, and anyone else inquisitive enough to give me a click! Christopher ~ then aged 7 ~ took the picture on Capri in 1994 with one of those disposable cameras. We were on holiday in Sorrento. I've aged a bit since ~ not least I think through the effort of getting this site up and running. It's one thing to find yourself in command of 25Mb of free space, quite another to use it! Intranets are so much easier ~ none of the uploading nonsense. At first the average man-eating tiger seemed user-friendlier!

However, muted credit is due to ClaraNet, my ISP, and to CuteFTP, the uploading program they recommend, for making the process a little easier than downright impossible. As for Microsoft's Web Publishing Wizard ~ its wand broke!

Stress!

Here is some nonsense I put together for the family for Xmas 2000, originally published on CD-ROM to be mailed hither and yon about the globe. The entire offering would have been far too big for this site ~ even if I had got it going in time ~ so what you have here is a very much cut down version, lacking a lot of the refinements ~ at least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

Webbs' Xmas 2000

Wearing my professional hat I'm an NHS General Practitioner ~ what most of the world would call a family physician, I think. Life as such can be pretty tedious and after nearly 20 years I shouldn't mind moving on. Anyone out there looking for a pre-owned quack?! Nice runner, full service history!

Curriculum Vitæ

For interest and amusement I have spent the past 12 months setting up an Intranet for my practice. This is on our own server but we are now connected to the Internet too ~ so that I can pepper my pages with all manner of exciting external links and save myself a lot of time and effort I might previously have spent providing local content.

It's all behind a firewall of course ~ there's plenty that ought not be open to the public gaze ~ but here for fun is some of the front end, including my table of key external links. Most of the internal ones will fail of course as the pages are not posted, and a few of the externals too as they are to private NHS sites.

Medical Centre Intranet

Too much serious stuff! In my spare time I'm a bit of a photographer and a bit into history and a tiny bit of a writer ~ which isn't to say I'm actually any good at any of these! Here are a couple of offerings.

Superman Grown Old

This isn't meant to be just about me! With all that space to fill, the whole family is welcome to some. Christopher certainly deserves a bit!

Probably you've now had quite enough of my rambling and you want to get to the proper index?
